Clerical On-Call

School District No. 46 is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Clerical On-Call team and to fill short-term temporary positions working in our schools and other district sites.

Successful candidates will have a Grade 12 education, a minimum of 1 year recent and applicable work experience in an office environment, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. The position requires the ability to multi-task and a high level of computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and various database programs. Accounting experience and/or coursework would be considered an asset as would an Office Administration certificate and/or coursework. Successful applicants will be expected to pass the School District’s basic clerical test as a preliminary step of shortlisting, which includes an assessment of typing speed.

Clerical on-call wages are between $28.95 and $34.98 per hour. On-call employees are paid for the rate of the position they are replacing.

Occupational Therapist

We welcome applicants for this full-time (35 hours/week) itinerant position to work closely with the team at Inclusion Support Services. The main duties are to provide consultative services to students as assigned, from K-12. This includes providing assessments, recommendations to staff and families, determination of equipment needs, training of staff, and liaising with external professionals and agencies as required.

The successful applicant must have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy, and be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of B.C. Experience working with student aged children, especially those with multiple physical challenges, is required. Experience working with students in integrated settings and working with multidisciplinary teams would be considered an asset. Wage is between $50.68 and $50.93 per hour.

Early Childhood Educator

We are looking for Early Childhood Educators to join our growing Learning and Innovation Department. ECEs lead before and/or after school care and work collaboratively with the kindergarten teacher to facilitate the seamless day for kindergarten and primary students. The current starting wage is $28.22 per hour.

The successful applicant must have an Early Childhood Education certificate (or evidence of significant coursework), have a valid BC Early Childhood Educator License to Practice (or expectation of receiving license within 6-12 months), a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an ECE in a licensed setting including experience working with children from birth to age 5 and experience in an after-school care program, and a valid Childsafe first aid certificate. Knowledge of the Ministry of Education and Child Care’s Early Learning Framework and experience in creating, organizing, planning and budgeting for an early learning program would be considered assets. Wage is between $32.76 and $33.01 per hour.

A certificate from an accredited program is required, but applicants who are enrolled and have completed a majority of their coursework may be considered. A valid first aid certificate is required. The wage range for this position is between $31.61 and $33.22 per hour.
