SD46 Secures Contract with New School Bus Provider, Diversified Transportation
SUNSHINE COAST, BRITISH COLUMBIA – After an extensive search, School District 46 is thrilled to announce its partnership with Diversified Transportation, a leading school bus provider, beginning in the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Under the new agreement, Diversified Transportation will assume the responsibility of providing transportation services for School District 46. The transition to Diversified Transportation signifies an exciting step forward for the district, aligning with its vision of delivering safe, efficient and environmentally-sustainable transportation services to the Sunshine Coast community.
The partnership with Diversified Transportation promises numerous benefits for the students and their families within School District 46. Diversified Transportation has a strong track record of prioritizing the well-being of students during their journeys to and from school. Moreover, Diversified Transportation is known for a strong communications system with families. Diversified Transportation is also renowned for its dedication to employees and is committed to investing in their professional development. The district’s relationship with the current local manager and bus drivers remains strong and we are pleased that Diversified Transportation will be working with them going forward.
Additionally, the collaboration will significantly reduce the environmental impact of school bus transportation by utilizing a new fleet of propane buses and allowing for the use of Board-owned electric buses, if the School District 46 is successful in its application to the Zero Emissions Transit Fund.
Superintendent Kate Kerr expressed her enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating, “Securing this contract with Diversified Transportation is a positive step forward for School District 46. We are confident that their expertise and commitment to safety will greatly benefit our students and the community as a whole. We look forward to a successful and productive collaboration.”
