Inclement Weather Prep Notice

We are expecting flurries tomorrow, but an accumulation of snow is not anticipated until the end of the day; however, please ensure you have an emergency plan for your child(ren) in the event that schools are closed, the school’s start time is delayed, students are dismissed early or bussing routes are cancelled or delayed.

The safety of students and staff is our first priority. Specifically, student safety is a shared responsibility. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s safe travel to school. If for any reason a parent/guardian feels that a child cannot travel safely to school, they should make other arrangements for their child. Students will not be penalized for absences due to severe weather conditions. The decision to attend school is the responsibility of each family.

We will be monitoring the conditions early and throughout the day and will communicate with families, staff, and the community if there are any changes to the school day or bussing in the following ways:

  • Information will be updated on our Twitter and Facebook page (@SD46SC).
  • The district website will be updated with information about the status of our facilities and transportation services.
  • We will send parents/guardians an email and phone message via MyED/School Messenger and staff will receive notification via their SD46 email account and, if there are closures, by phone as well.
