Special Counsellor

School District #46 is looking for a continuing part-time (21 hours/week) Special Counsellor to work in Sunshine Coast Alternative School programs, effective immediately. The main duties are to provide therapeutic counselling to secondary students including concerns around complex trauma, abuse, suicide, drugs and alcohol abuse. This position works as part of the SCAS Engagement team, providing support in various programs and requires travel between program sites, community and home visits. The successful applicant must have a Masters Degree in Counselling.

Early Childhood Educator

We are looking for Early Childhood Educators to join our growing Learning and Innovation Department. ECEs lead before and/or after school care and work collaboratively with the kindergarten teacher to facilitate the seamless day for kindergarten and primary students. The current starting wage is $28.22 per hour.
The successful applicant must have an Early Childhood Education certificate (or evidence of significant coursework), have a valid BC Early Childhood Educator License to Practice (or expectation of receiving license within 6-12 months), a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an ECE in a licensed setting including experience working with children from birth to age 5 and experience in an after-school care program, and a valid Childsafe first aid certificate. Knowledge of the Ministry of Education and Child Care’s Early Learning Framework and experience in creating, organizing, planning and budgeting for an early learning program would be considered assets. Wage is between $32.76 and $33.01 per hour.

School District 46 is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our EA On-Call list. A certificate from an accredited program is required, but applicants who are enrolled and have completed a majority of their coursework may be considered. A valid first aid certificate is required. The wage range for this position is between $31.61 and $33.22 per hour.
