June is National Indigenous History Month, and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day
This month offers an opportunity to learn more about and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, perspectives, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. It is also a time to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonization and consider how we can each support reconciliation through learning, respect, and meaningful action.
On the Sunshine Coast, we look forward to local celebrations, including the annual syiyaya Days. Together, we continue to listen, learn, and build relationships grounded in respect and understanding.
