Dear SD46 Learning Community,
As you are well aware we are currently facing a serious water shortage on the Sunshine Coast. As a school district, we have engaged in a long-running initiative to reduce water consumption and waste, including:
- Upgrading urinals and toilets in SD46 to waterless or low-water consumption models.
- Added filters to all drinking water locations within schools to eliminate the need for water flushing while maintaining safe drinking water.
- Worked with a consultant to develop fun and educational programming for students and staff.
As SD46 is a community partner and part of the Sunshine Coast Emergency Preparedness, we also share with you information and tips from the Sunshine Coast Regional District for using water wisely (see attached and below).
