Re: Out of Country Trips and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
School District 46 is closely monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19.
With information from the World Health Organization (WHO), Global Affairs Canada, BC Provincial Health Officer, and BC Ministry of Education, the district has cancelled all overseas travel for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. As always, the safety of our students, staff, and community is our priority.
Given current travel advisories and the daily changes in public health information being released, the four secondary school trips (2 to Italy/Greece; Germany/Poland/Czech Republic; and Russia) scheduled in March have been cancelled.
The trip to Russia leaving on March 5th was organized and structured significantly differently than the other student packaged trips. The parents have chosen for their children to continue with this trip.
