Roberts Creek Elementary teacher Pamela Kaatz and her grade 6/7 class raised funds through pizza sales for a field trip to travel from the Sunshine Coast to the the Science Fun Day at Playland. Unfortunately due to COVID 19, the trip was cancelled. The students decided instead to donate 50% of what they raised to BC response to research COVID 19 and 50% to the food bank.
UBC President, Santa Ono was so touched by the decision from the class that he created a personal message of thanks for them (see below).
Mr. Ono says it well, ‘Your kindness and generosity is inspiring! Never stop learning and never stop being kind!!’
