1. a. Report cards were sent home on March 5th and schools will dismiss one hour early on Wednesday, March 10th and Thursday, March 11th for the opportunity for parent teacher The vast majority of meetings will be virtual or phone calls. (1b)

1. a. SPARK! Classes begin this month offering parents, child care providers and caregivers of children newborn to five years old a 90-minute SPARK! class on ZOOM. (1b)

1. a. Winter celebrations: School cheer and holiday spirit were in no short supply this season! We found new ways to celebrate the season safely and our creativity paved ways for new traditions across the district. (1b)

1. a. Remembrance Day ceremonies and activities looked a little different this year. Our community found creative and caring ways to honour the day: collaborative school displays, pre-recorded online ceremonies displaying classroom projects, poetry and songs, and a school wide paper crane making project, to name a few. 1. a. Fun and safe Halloween celebrations occurred across the district on Friday, October 30th. From outdoor costume parades to a goodie launcher design challenge, Sunshine Coast Schools know how to get creative and celebrate safely! (1b)

1. a. Students continue to demonstrate kindness and a remarkable ability to adapt to our new normal and we couldn’t be prouder! Kindness is the energy that sustains us now, and kindness will be our greatest memory when this is over. (1b)

Following our district wide survey and reaching out to families this week by phone and email, 75.2% of our students and families have indicated option 1 (Full Time In-Class Learning) and 15.5% of families have chosen Option 2 (Transition Phase). As of the end of last week, we have been unable to connect with approximately 9% of our students so this % will increase as more students/ families indicate their preferences. (1b)

1. a. On June 1st, students returned to our schools on an optional attendance basis. Preliminary data indicates that up to 40% of our students in elementary are learning at school for 2 days per week and approximately 20% of our secondary students are learning part time at school. The balance continues to work at home with the support of our teachers, educational assistants and their families. (Most of Circle of Care 1)

1. Students have been engaging in online learning for several weeks. Teachers, Educational assistants and Principals have utilized technology, creativity and expertise to support literacy, numeracy, subject areas learning, and Core Competency development. (1c, d, e)
