A Giving Community!
When Kassandra Parker’s grade 5/6 class at Halfmoon Bay Elementary became interested in how they could help our community feel more like a community during Covid times and set out to raise $8,000 for the Food Bank in November with the help of other schools across the district, they never dreamed that they would surpass their goal, and by a LOT! By their December 10th deadline, they were able to raise $14,136.00 plus 5000 items for the local food bank.
During a year when it is even more important to support these programs, this is an inspiring reminder of the importance of giving and the power of working together to make a difference.
Kassandra Parker shared the following: “Thank you so much for all the hard work everyone who participated put into this; for the support, the motivation, and the opportunity.”
