Chatelech Secondary Students signed up for their clubs of choice/interest at Club Day 2019

Students prepared cucumbers and watermelon grown in the Davis Bay Elementary greenhouse for the annual PAC Welcome (Back) Picnic Potluck!

Across the district, students, families and staff have been participating in Terry Fox runs. Not counting this year, Sunshine Coast Schools have organized and participated in 257 Terry Fox runs and raised $157,048.46 for cancer research. (Picture: Gibsons Elementary Terry Fox Run 2019)

In the spirit of reconciliation and the vision of the Orange Shirt Day movement, the shishalh Nation shared their shishalh design for use in the 2019 Orange Shirt Day event. Shishalh artist and residential school survivor Tony Paul developed the 2019 design.

Seven elementary schools in our district wrapped up the season with a fun day of game play, clinics and a mixed school game. Clinics were instructed by players from high school jr. teams.

Aboriginal Education teacher, Gus Guzek shared with his students the story of bannock. Kindergarten to grade seven students discovered how and why the tradition began.

The concert and jazz bands have returned from this year’s band tour to the Sun Peaks Con Brio Festival. The concert band earned itself a gold medal and the jazz band earned a silver.
