The School Board Trustees adopted an anti-racism policy at the January 13th regular Board of Education meeting. Board Policies and Bylaws govern School District 46 – Sunshine Coast. Governance policies are general in nature and are set by the Board of Trustees to articulate and define important objectives, principles or values; and to define roles, responsibilities and authority. The Board has developed this policy in accordance with its Mission Statement as well as the British Columbia Human Rights Code, the Multiculturalism Act, the B.C. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, the Canadian Human Rights Act, and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom.
