Updates to SD46 Educational Leadership Team

SUNSHINE COAST, BRITISH COLUMBIA – The Sunshine Coast School District (SD46) is pleased to share two important updates regarding our educational leadership for the 2025-2026 school year.

First, we are happy to announce that Jim Vair will continue in his role as Director of Human Resources and Legal Counsel. Although Jim had previously announced his retirement, he has since made the decision to remain with the district. We are grateful for Jim’s continued leadership and the expertise he brings to this important portfolio.

In addition, we are thrilled to share that Alison Liddicoat has been appointed as Vice-Principal of Chatelech Secondary School.

With over 17 years of experience in the district, Alison has taught at both Elphinstone and Chatelech Secondary in student leadership, math, science, and careers. She has served in key leadership roles including teacher-in-charge, department head, communicating student learning lead teacher, and local union president. Alison’s work is grounded in student voice, equity, and collaborative leadership. Her training in Compassionate Systems Leadership and a Master’s in Educational Leadership focused on equitable and innovative programming reflect her deep commitment to supporting thriving school communities. A proud graduate of Elphinstone Secondary and lifelong Sunshine Coast resident, Alison shared, “I am excited to be taking on this new role and look forward to supporting students, families, and staff at Chatelech Secondary. I am passionate about educational programs and the creation of relationships that empower students and create vibrant communities of life-long learners.”

Please join us in congratulating Alison on this new leadership role and in welcoming Jim’s continued service to our district.
