Spaces Account for Parents & Caregivers<\/strong><\/p>

Spaces Family Account<\/a>\u00a0| Parent Invite to Spaces\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>

Hello parents and caregivers,<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

As part of the requirement for the new reporting order,\u00a0parents and caregivers of all\u00a0students\u00a0K-12\u00a0will be able to view\u00a0their\u00a0child’s reflections\u00a0on the core competencies and goal setting<\/strong>\u00a0at least\u00a0three times per school year. On the Sunshine Coast, students\u00a0will be using the Spaces ePortfolio platform to do this. Spaces is an online platform where students can upload evidence of their learning in a variety of ways (i.e. photos, videos or text).<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

You may have already\u00a0received an invite to create a Spaces\u00a0family account. Please note, only the\u00a0first contact listed in our system\u00a0for\u00a0parents and\u00a0caregivers\u00a0may have received an invitation. If you haven’t received an invite, you can reach out to your child’s teacher to request one.\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Once you have signed up for your family Spaces account,\u00a0you can use it\u00a0to view the reflections and goals that\u00a0your\u00a0child has posted<\/strong>. Elementary students will be posting reflections and goals a minimum of three times per year, while secondary students will be posting a minimum of four times\u00a0per year.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Please be aware that this is a new platform for SD46, so teachers and students are still learning\u00a0how to use it. You may see teachers using Spaces in a\u00a0variety of different ways depending on their comfort level\u00a0and\u00a0students may be uploading different types of content for different teachers.\u00a0<\/p>
