We stand alongside the sh\u00edsh\u00e1lh Nation in support as they share the results of the sh\u00edsh\u00e1lh Archaeological Research Project including the results of the Ground Penetrating Radar Investigation<\/a>. The need for this work and the results are painful reminders of the tragic legacy of residential schools and the devastating impact on Indigenous peoples and their cultures.<\/i><\/p>

The school district has lowered its flags to half-mast in honour of the\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Children who did not come home, in honour of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Survivors, and in honour of their\u00a0<\/span>Families and\u00a0<\/span>Communities. Our thoughts and condolences are with the sh\u00edsh\u00e1lh Nation, the more than fifty other Nations whose children attended the residential school in Sechelt, and all who are impacted.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>
