Superintendent’s Weekly Update. May 14, 2020<\/strong><\/p>

Dear Sunshine Coast families,<\/p>

We will soon be inviting many of our students back to school during the week of June 1st<\/sup> on a part-time and voluntary basis. The amount of in-school time offered will vary through the grades. The Ministry of Education refers to this as, \u201cStage 3\u201d of the 5 Stage framework for education in B.C. I anticipate having more detailed information to share with you in the next, \u201cWeekly Update\u201d as we receive further direction and support from the Ministry of Education later this week.<\/p>

Given that it will be voluntary for parents to send their children to school in Stage 3, and while home based learning also continues, we will be asking parents to complete a survey to let us know of their intentions for whether they will send their children to school during the month of June. This information will be important to us as we plan for this stage. Along with the survey, we will provide a more detailed sense of what this return to school will look like in terms of safety plans, timing, learning program, and transportation.<\/p>
