REFLECTIONS LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
ONLY $100 CANADIAN!
"Reflections" is a beautiful limited edition (500) lithograph that would grace any office or home or serve as a very special gift for a client or in honour of a retirement. It is a unique collaboration of two of the finest artists on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast, Greta Guzek and Ed Hill.
Greta embraces and captures the spirit of the West Coast. Her intricate designs and vivid colours have become a distinctly joyful feature of her artwork, which has gained wide appeal throughout Canada. After completing a Fine Arts degree in South Africa, Greta moved to the Sunshine Coast of BC where she now works out of her studio in Gibsons. Already an established feature in the galleries, her images have seen diverse application - from book illustrations and designs to posters promoting a variety of events and festivals.
Ed, now retired from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, over the years continually dabbled in art and experimented with various art forms. In the summer of 1985 he befriended artist Roy Henry Vickers and they became teacher and student, allowing Ed to develop as a professional artist while still performing his daily duties with the RCMP. Ed resides in Gibsons and produces works of art which evoke the special emotion that is "West Coast."
As the artists describe it, "As the fishing vessel rounds the point, its skipper can now see home port. A full day of rolling seas, pulling nets and loading the hold is behind him. He and his crew of one are spent. Their labours began so long ago, before the sun knew the day. The very personal satisfaction of their routine toil peaks as home port is now within sight. The eager and noisy anticipation of the gulls is rewarded with bits of fish washed from the deck; yet the beauty of the sea and nature stand by in mute tranquility."
The title "Reflections" speaks of a day's work done and of the satisfaction of retrospection. It wasn't an easy day, without its problems... rather it was a fulfilling day."
