Christine is passionate about public education, student learning, and student success. She has been active in public education for more than 20 years as an educator, school trustee, and parent. Christine taught secondary mathematics at Chatelech Secondary School from 1994 to 2010, held office at the Board of Education since 2011, and recently graduated from SFU with her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. She is a sessional instructor at SFU and St. Mark’s College, she is self-employed as an independent educational consultant, and she is a member of the Sunshine Coast Community Futures Board of Directors. Christine enjoyed being a part of the BC Transforming Education Math K-9 Curriculum Development Team and loves connecting with those in BC Education as one of the #bcedchat moderators on Twitter and member or the BC Association of Mathematics Teachers (BCAMT) Executive Committee.

Christine is proud to serve the student and community of the Sunshine Coast as a member of the SD46 Board of Education. She was first elected in 2011 and acclaimed in 2014. Christine is currently the SD46 Policy Committee Chair, South Coast Branch Secretary, and elected BCPSEA Representative. She is also the PAC school Liaison with West Sechelt Elementary and Davis Bay Elementary. Christine has also served as the SD46 Education Committee Chair, member of the BCSTA Education Committee representing the South Coast Branch, member with the BC Ministry of Education Standing Committee on Provincial Curriculum representing the BCSTA and trustee liaison with the SD46 District PAC, Sechelt Indian Band, Halfmoon Bay Elementary PAC. Provincially, Christine served 3-years as an elected member of the BC School Trustees’ Association (BCSTA) Board of Directors from 2014 to 2017, where she served as the board liaison to the BCSTA Education Committee, Metropolitan Branch, Northwest Branch, BCSTA Legislative Committee, and Vancouver Island School Trustees Association (VISTA).
